[Deputy Sheriff]


Position Description:
Patrol a designated area of the county in a radio-equipped car to preserve law and order, to prevent and discover the commission of crime, to direct traffic, and to enforce motor vehicle operation and parking regulation. Answer calls and complaints involving automobile accidents, robberies, neighborhood disturbances and other misdemeanors and felonies. Secures the scene of crime, administers first aid, conducts preliminary investigations, gathers evidence, obtains witnesses and makes arrests. Testify in court regarding arrests and citations made. Interview persons with complaints and inquiries. Interacts extensively with the public.

Qualifications: The successful candidate will be a U.S. Citizen and be a High School graduate or have a G.E.D.; possess a valid Arizona Drivers license; successfully complete the required training and Arizona P.O.S.T. certification; ability to pass drug screen, polygraph exam, psychological exam, background investigation; and be 21-years of age, except that a person may attend an academy if he/she will be 21 prior to graduation.

Starting Salary: $33,844 per annum
